It started on a Houston-metro dealership floor in 2013 — F-150s and Super Dutys, mostly. Top-3 producer on a 14-person floor by year three. F&I certified by year four. Over $4M in personal sales volume across two dealerships.
Around year five, a pattern emerged. Every Monday, the marketing manager bragged about how many leads the website pulled. Every Friday, half of them had gone cold — not because the sales team slacked, but because the system handing them the lead was broken. Forms went to a dead alias. Texts arrived four hours late. People landing on the site at 11 PM were told to call between 9 and 5. The dealership paid $30 a click for traffic that hit voicemail.
